This week in class we focused on starting to build up our final project. Our final project is to build our own board game. On Tuesday we were beginning to get into the groove of board games by playing multiple Disney themed games. The game I played was the temple mine cart game and it was surprisingly fun. It was centered around building a good deck to keep throughout the game to gather more recourses. A main point of the game is to move certain spaces to get more materials but in doing so you would bump the other players forward messing up their strategy. For my game I have done a little brainstorming into what I am going to do. I want to do a deck building board game centered around the future or space. The main concept of the game could be space travel. For cards in the game, I am thinking a rocket card, fuel card, and things along those lines. But for debuffs or things to mess up the player there is going to be a ship repair card where you must spend a whole turn repairing your ship or getting more oxygen. The most difficult part of this game for me is building a board that accurately represents my game and cards. So, for a space theme I feel like I need to have either planets or other moons or rocks for players to traverse across. I am leaning towards the game being a space race to get to a certain destination. As for the destination I am not sure yet. I think that getting to the moon like a space race would be fun. It could be player cards such as Russia, China, and the United States all competing to get to the moon first.
